What it does

This command checks your items at about 2,200 Home Depot stores nationwide, live from Home Depot. Use it to find which stores carry an item, how many they have, and what it costs there.

A nationwide search is big, so it can take a while. Before it starts, the bot estimates how long it will take. If the estimate is more than 45 minutes, the bot doesn't start the search and asks you to try later.

You can run one nationwide search at a time.

Product slots

Each internet number you search uses one product slot. You get half as many slots as your store limit, rounded up. For example, a store limit of 10 gives you 5 slots. Slots are counted over the last 24 hours: each slot comes back 24 hours after the search that used it. Check how many you have left with /profile.

Slots are only used when a search succeeds and you get your results. If a search fails, times out, or can't start, or the bot can't deliver the results to you, nothing is charged.

What you get back

Only you can see the reply. While the search runs, you see how many stores and items are being checked and about how long it should take.

When it finishes, you get:

  • A summary of how many items returned results, and for each item, how many stores were checked and how many carry it.
  • One CSV spreadsheet per item, named nationwide_<internet number>_...csv. It has a row for each store that carries the item, with these columns: Store ID (store number), Product ID (internet number), In Store Quantity, Online Price, In Store Price, and Store Address.
  • If some stores couldn't be checked, a note saying how many, plus an extra CSV of the skipped stores with the columns Product ID, Store ID, and Reason ("not checked: capacity" or "not checked: upstream error").
  • How many product slots you have left, and when the next one comes back if you have none left.

Discord allows 10 files per message, so if there are more files, they come in a second message marked "(continued)".

If the bot can't update your reply with the results, it sends them to you by direct message instead. This happens whenever the search takes longer than 15 minutes, because Discord stops letting the bot update a reply after that, and can happen sooner if the reply fails for another reason. Keep your DMs open to the bot so they can reach you. If neither the reply nor the DM gets through, the search ends as failed and nothing is charged. If that search ran longer than 15 minutes, wait 15 minutes before starting another ("Try Again Soon"), and open your DMs to the bot first.

Example

/run-sku-nationwide productids:312345678,298765432 sortby:instoreprice sortorder:asc

The bot checks both items nationwide and sends two spreadsheets, each sorted from the lowest in-store price to the highest. This uses 2 product slots.

If something goes wrong

  • Invalid SKU Input: enter between 1 and 10 internet numbers.
  • Invalid SKU: one of the numbers is not exactly 9 digits. The message shows which one.
  • Invalid Sorting Option or Invalid Sorting Order: use one of the values listed under the options above.
  • Request In Progress: you already have a nationwide search running. Wait for it to finish.
  • Try Again Soon: your last long search finished, but its results couldn't be sent here or by DM. Open your DMs to the bot, then try again at the time shown.
  • Rate Limit Exceeded: you have used all your product slots for the last 24 hours. The message says when the next slot comes back.
  • Product Limit Exceeded: you asked for more items than you have slots left. Remove some internet numbers and try again.
  • Nationwide Search Not Started: there isn't enough search capacity right now, or the bot couldn't check it. The message explains which. Nothing is charged. Try again later.
  • Nationwide Search Timed Out: the search didn't finish within 65 minutes. Nothing is charged. Try again later.
  • Nationwide Check Unavailable or Nationwide Check Incomplete: no stores could be checked, or more than 1 in 10 stores were skipped because capacity ran out. Nothing is charged. Try again later.
  • Server Error or Error Occurred: something failed on our side. Try again later.
